Manage physical device recipies remotely

A Recipe is the digital twin of a program that is available on the physical device: with the platform you can edit the parameters of an existing recipe, or you can create a new recipe that will be written on the device.

Cookbooks are a set of recipes that are grouped by a certain function or type of machinery.
Recipes can be added to more than one Cookbook.

  • click on + Add recipe button to create a new recipe
  • Enter the values in the various sections

In order to view the Recipes section, the user must have Manage Recipes permission on Roles

Edit Recipe

Parameters are a custom aspect of Things5 and they are strictly relevant to customer cooking/freezing recipes as well as a number of phases and their details.

Usually you are able to edit name and description for that recipe, add a new phase detail (ref. 1️⃣ ) or an entire new phase, depending on your needs (ref. 2️⃣ ).

Once done, click Save to save the recipe on the physical machine (ref. 3️⃣ or Delete to remove it (ref. 4️⃣ )

Create Recipe

Creating a new receipt is similar.
You have first to give it a name (ref. 1️⃣ ) and select the template (ref. 2️⃣ )

When a template is selected, Things5 will propose you the editing interface to adjust the values, and as shown above, you can add an entire phase (ref. 🅰️) or edit/add a part of it (ref. 🅱️) as your needed
Save button (ref. 3️⃣ ) will send the recipe to the physical machine.

Recipes created can be added to a Cookbook: cookbooks can be sent to one or more devices using the Send to Device function.

Import Recipes

In the Recipes section, by clicking on a device, we have the option of importing it to the Things5 platform by clicking on the "Import" button.
This way we can add recipes from that device and store them, since in case we need to upload Cookbooks.

The process of exporting Cookbooks, will irrevocably overwrite all the recipes on the device.
